Tribal Tul – Triple

It’s quite enjoyable, to go through a very intense brain storm session, so full of excitement and inspiration, and actually have a product that justifies the hype! It was fun to explode creatively with Tal And Talya. The end result for the album art work is a 23,333 pixels in size. both dimensions. So, here is a zoomable version that you can look at!

Maria Kong

For 6 moth approximately, I am actively part of a dance group called Maria Kong. It was my pleasure to take part in a creation that was done, in the most flowing and respectful way. To people and most of all to the creation itself. It was as much as possible an organic process. 4 talented dances, that created a dance group. 4 Creators. 4 minds. The leading mind behind the group is Talia Landa. Together with Anderson Braz, Leo Lerus and Yaara Moses, they have created together a piece called -Fling. I was part of the set design ( projections ) mainly and a little bit of everything. From sound till the website. This is the trailer for the show.
Enjoy!!

Quickly quickly…

I was so nervous when I came down to sit on Goa Pete’s Karma Party flier. It’s a Goa Trance festival that happens in the beautiful forests of British Columbia, and held by Pete, a dear friend, together with other amazing people. I was in the amidst of working hard on several projects. It seems as I go to a busy mode, it’s easy for me to feel like I have nothing else to do, then work. Not true. But the illusion and the escape of it, charms me. Nonetheless, I made a flier I was so proud of.

I hope the party was good!

Ori @ Light Festival of Jerusalem

Together with Jimmy a very lovely and good friend ( plastik7.com ), we designed and animated a little charming story of a little boy, that gets lost in his imagination. Together with Aricha Ronen, a light and laser artist ( showdesign.co.il ), we’ve put an installation called “ORI” which means My Light in hebrew. It was a very successful exhibition of projection, sound and light, as part of the 2009 Light festival of Jerusalem.

Enjoy!

Artists

Who are the artists?

us.

This is a thought.

I met a wonderful woman called Margalit Splater, which runs a Center for the body awareness and life style called Spalter. We had a wonderful talk, where she was talking about how we have such patterns in our selves, that our body automatically reacts to. Meaning, movements and gestures that we adopted along the way, when encountered situations that were imprinted on us. We got used to the first reaction it’s embedded in us.
She went on and said that I should identify these moments were I react and watch them. Just look at them and see what comes up in me. If we are loose then, we can manage to improvise and be creative and productive.

Like artists, we want to be loose and free with our creation. Even if sometimes you have something that bothers you or scares you, so you can’t draw. This also happens. It’s natural and simply another color. But freedom is the key to draw.

As I go about this project, I find that this project gives me reflections of me. I mean that if I take the artistic way, which is creating a visual thing, and the concept in hand, life, I get my own life reflected back at me! That’s what fascinates me. That meeting point were we can create magic out of this life.

Besides a lot of cool ideas that came along the way, I am more amazed by the idea that if I want to talk about magic in life in a film, I cannot talk from within any life but my own.

We all draw with the same magic.

Artistic magicians.

^_^

It’s funny, the next day after the meeting with Margalit Spalter, I saw a book called “Getting Things Done”. Kind of a guide for working and living better. There was line that captured me, even in a business oriented book, that said : “Our productivity is directly proportional to our ability to relax.” Amazing how these too concepts of “Relax” and “Produce” are almost opposites, but still work so well together. Especially when it’s in critical mass.

A shift

When in Swizerland this 29 birthday, I had an inspiration that made me change my mind about this project. It happened when I had an inspiring moment with a Swiss train station clock.

I was waiting for a train to go to Zurich, and I wanted to see the time. For the first time after a few trains already, I was noticing something really cool. The way the seconds dial moves. It doesn’t tick! It just moves smoothly towards the “12″ position. When it reach that spot, it holds for a moment and then… tick! it pushes the minutes dial by one minute, and continues to drift smoothly for another spin.

It was so memorizing! A though came for a visit. I was thinking, how time is endlessly moving, always changing and drifting. We are the ones, that run all over the charts… sometimes way past it, restlessly expecting the “time” to come, or before it, pulling on the dial for it to stop. But it’s clear, that we sit right on top of that dial. With mr.Time.

^_^ The seconds dial even had a little circle at the end of it. Exactly for an armchair with a chilled lemonade for us to sit on.

Later that night, I remembered a memory from the eleventh grade or so, when i just started to get animated and visual. In one of the poetry classes, we where reading a Byalik poem. I remember wanting so much to visualize that poem!

It fits me better, it fits my all over mind.

Then why not?

Why not have visual poetry?

Invisible surface…

Something a bit sad happened to me once in the streets of Vancouver. I was walking in the street, in a very vulnerable place, very sad and shaky. Accidentally I bumped into a homeless junky. The person flipped out and started yelling. I didn’t react at first, and just replied annoyed. The person continued and then, I got really mad – right then I waved my fist up in the air, looking for a fight.

Boom, I saw my self. I saw my self, with a fist up in the air, looking for a fight. I felt that this is the material that wars are made from. I fled the scene. I was so sad and started to cry, as to where I found my self. just from a silly, accidental bump. Also amazed and compassionate, that I felt what can happen, and how easily we can be turned on on any kind of feeling.

When I think about this project, it’s the meeting point that fascinates me as well. When we really meet the world and ourselves. So imagine, if we have this shot on camera, we can freeze frame, and walk around into the realm where we see the expression of this energy, letting the hero, see himself, coz for some reason, right there it was seen.

Imagine that there is a magical, invisible wall, where we can reach and see our selves. See our circumstances and play with them. Almost like a mirror that shows us ourselves, for real.

Ahh…. words, how do I wish, real will be put into them. I want freedom from bullshit. But it’s ok, Let’s not be so harsh. Bullshit can also be cool. Don’t listen to me ^_^

This is a little test, done with an idea I had in my head for a while, that just touches the idea of a wall we can reach and touch, but we don’t see where the surface will be. We need to move and move, Forward, forward, and a little bit more, until opa! We are there.

Enjoy sweeties!
