Artists

Who are the artists?

us.

This is a thought.

I met a wonderful woman called Margalit Splater, which runs a Center for the body awareness and life style called Spalter. We had a wonderful talk, where she was talking about how we have such patterns in our selves, that our body automatically reacts to. Meaning, movements and gestures that we adopted along the way, when encountered situations that were imprinted on us. We got used to the first reaction it’s embedded in us.
She went on and said that I should identify these moments were I react and watch them. Just look at them and see what comes up in me. If we are loose then, we can manage to improvise and be creative and productive.

Like artists, we want to be loose and free with our creation. Even if sometimes you have something that bothers you or scares you, so you can’t draw. This also happens. It’s natural and simply another color. But freedom is the key to draw.

As I go about this project, I find that this project gives me reflections of me. I mean that if I take the artistic way, which is creating a visual thing, and the concept in hand, life, I get my own life reflected back at me! That’s what fascinates me. That meeting point were we can create magic out of this life.

Besides a lot of cool ideas that came along the way, I am more amazed by the idea that if I want to talk about magic in life in a film, I cannot talk from within any life but my own.

We all draw with the same magic.

Artistic magicians.

^_^

It’s funny, the next day after the meeting with Margalit Spalter, I saw a book called “Getting Things Done”. Kind of a guide for working and living better. There was line that captured me, even in a business oriented book, that said : “Our productivity is directly proportional to our ability to relax.” Amazing how these too concepts of “Relax” and “Produce” are almost opposites, but still work so well together. Especially when it’s in critical mass.
